The Alliance Française de Los Angeles launches in 2023 a scholarship program for French learners both kids and teens. Scholarships are valid for any summer camp group classes in 2023 covering these two options:
- 2 weeks of online Summer Camp 2023*
- 1 week of in person Summer Camp 2023*
Summer Camp schedule: from June 12 to August 4, 2023.
* Depending on the number of students (no participant or sold-out week) attending the weekly Summer Camp program.
Eligibility requirements
The applicant must:
- Be a member of Alliance de Los Angeles or become one by purchasing a one-year membership
- Be from 6 to 17 years old
- Be a California State resident
- All levels of French are eligible
How to apply: criteria for evaluation
In order to apply, you will need to provide:
- For children from 6-11 years old: a drawing representing what pops up into your mind when you think of France
- For children from 12-17 years old: a written essay (60 words) in English describing reasons for learning and studying and expressing commitment.
- For parents or guardians: a cover letter stating why your child is a good candidate for a scholarship. The letter can be submitted in English or in French.
When to apply
Drawing/essay + the parents/guardians cover letter must be received from April 17 to May 15, 2023.
The applicant will be contacted by May 29, 2023, to proceed to Summer Camp enrollment (your choice of week*).
*Depending on the number of students (no participant or sold-out week) attending the weekly Summer Camp program.
