Join us in welcoming Monique Milia-Marie-Luce, who will speak about the geography, history and culture of the French West Indies.
Monique Milia-Marie-Luce is a winner of the 2022 Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence scholarship at UNC Charlotte. She is from Martinique, French West Indies. She has a PhD in History. She is Associate Professor of Contemporary History at the Université des Antilles (University of the French West Indies), Martinique.
She is a member of the research laboratory Aihp-Geode EA-927, working on Caribbean Industrial Archeology, History, Heritage, Geography, Development, and Environment. She is also a fellow of the Institut Convergences Migrations (CI Migrations). She has taught undergraduate and graduate history courses on the Caribbean, the history of the European Union, the political history of France in the 19th century, international relations in the 20th century, history and comics.
