Dear Friends, Partners, and Community Members of the Alliance Française de Los Angeles:
Following the announcement of Isabelle Leroux’s upcoming relocation to Miami and departure from the Alliance Française de Los Angeles on September 30, 2022, the Board of Directors underwent a scrupulous recruiting process. Upon receiving a number of excellent applications for the position, the Board and its recruiting committee met with several outstanding candidates.
Today, the Board of Directors is delighted to announce that a new director has been chosen to lead the Alliance Française de Los Angeles: Jasmine Rafati Fowler will be taking over the duties of Director of the Alliance Française de Los Angeles on September 12, 2022.
The Board of Directors, along with the team of the Alliance Française de Los Angeles, is looking forward to this new chapter together. Thank you to our staff, teachers, learners, partners, and community members for supporting us in this exciting transition.
10 years ago, Isabelle Leroux joined the Alliance Française de Los Angeles where she occupied different positions as Board Member, Vice-President, President, and Executive Director. Isabelle has worked tirelessly to lead our organization’s growth and change especially during the pandemic. Isabelle leaves the Alliance Française de Los Angeles in a strong position for continued growth. We cannot thank her enough for her contributions, accomplishments, and inspiring leadership during her time here. She will join the Board of Directors the Alliance Française de Miami. She’s also Vice President of the Federation of Alliances Françaises National Board.
On September 12, Jasmine Rafati Fowler will join the Alliance Française de Los Angeles as the Director. Jasmine has been an active member and a student of Alliance Française de Los Angeles since 2013. She joined the board in November of 2019.
Originally from Iran, Jasmine has traveled and lived in different countries. She and her twin sister moved to Switzerland to finish their last year of high school, and while there she learned to speak French. Jasmine then moved to the United States and obtained her Master’s Degree in International Business from Pepperdine University. From there, she moved to France to train at Christie’s Auction House in the jewelry department. Jasmine has a deep appreciation for the French language and French culture. She is looking forward to build on the wonderful foundation that Isabelle Leroux has created to further expand and grow Alliance Française de Los Angeles.
Through partnerships, sponsorships and events Jasmine seeks to raise funds and awareness for the betterment of Alliance Française de Los Angeles and its mission. She is bringing her extensive experience in management, marketing and sales to lead Alliance to the next chapter, and is excited to collaborate with the team and the board members at Alliance Française de Los Angeles.
