Alexandre Dumas’ swashbuckling novels, Victor Hugo’s epics or Jules Vernes’ prophecies make us travel through time. Madame de Sévigné’s exquisite letters painted an extraordinarily vivid picture of 17th century in France, whereas Marguerite Yourcenar (the very first Académicienne) conquered the problem of time with her fictionalized historical novels.
