What is the TCF?
The TCF is the French language test awarded by the French Ministry of Education: The TCF examination assesses a person’s level of French language for general purposes. It is intended for people who are not native French speakers and who, for professional, personal or academic reasons, wish to have their competency in French assessed and certified simply, reliably and quickly. More info on TCF : click here.
4 different types of TCF:
- TCF – ANF – Accès à la Nationalité Française
- TCF – Q for Quebec
- TCF – TP for the general Public
- TCF – DAP for future students and students
The results of the TCF reliably position candidates at one of the six levels (from level A1 to level C2) of the Council of Europe’s scale. The results are sent to the Alliance Française within 3 weeks of receipt of the examination papers by the CIEP.
