Let’s open the old music hall, and put on a show!
Movie : Paris 36
Short synopsis :
Set in a suburb of north-east Paris between December 1935 and July 1936
during the “revolutionary” period of the Popular Front (who introduced the first paid holidays and a shorter working week). Three unemployed performers decide to take over by force the music hall where they worked a few months earlier and stage a show there.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
- We have chosen a film for you to view at home; our selections are available via various streaming services.
- Every participant must watch the film before the discussion at a time that fits their own schedule.
- When prompted, enter your first name and your French level. This will help us organize discussion groups by level.
- Have fun discussing the films with other participants in a relaxed atmosphere! Each event will last about 90min.
- You may join the online event as long as you have seen the film!
All levels are welcome to join. Our instructor Sylvie will lead the ciné-salon with thematic questions and organize discussion groups by level.
