My name is Jocelyne Hamon Siegel, My native language is French and I teach French, Spanish and English. I have been working at the Alliance Française for almost 22 years.
I am married to an American and I have been living in the USA since graduating College here. I hold a French Baccalauréat in Philosophy from the University of
Bordeaux, a BA in French literature with a minor in English from Hunter College New York, and a Certificate in Interpretation and Translation from Marymount College through the United Nations. I have also completed additional classes On Line with UCLA and UC San Diego.
I have extensive experience teaching in both public and private schools, Middle and High School, including Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, New West Charter Middle School, The International French Lycée (LILA), Marlborough School for Girls and others.
My approach to teaching languages is to work on both oral and written skills, combining traditional methods along with technology, videos, movies, songs and language educational sites, My lessons are conducted in a lively, stimulating and positive atmosphere with an emphasis on the culture of the target language.
In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, especially jazz, I am very fond of the outdoors and I enjoy swimming, hiking, walking, cooking or sitting in a terrace cafe. I belong to a book club. I also travel every year to Normandy, South Of France, and Paris to see my relatives with my husband and my two children.
